Front Desk Staff

The Front Desk Associate serves as the primary point of contact for customers, providing outstanding guest service while supporting the daily operations of the ice rink. This position is responsible for customer check-in, program registration, cash handling, facility monitoring, and assisting with general cleanliness and upkeep to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Services & Customer Support
• Greet and assist guests, participants, coaches, officials, and visitors in a professional and
friendly manner.
• Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries regarding programs, schedules, events,
and facility policies.
• Process registrations, memberships, public skate admissions, and event bookings.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and daily balancing procedures.
• Assist customers with skate rentals, program information, and facility directions.
• Address customer concerns and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
• Be knowledgeable and help promote all rink programs, camps, leagues, lessons, and special
events.
• Any and all duties as assigned.
Administrative Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate participant records and registration information.
• Prepare daily reports and assist with administrative tasks as assigned.
• Monitor online registrations and assist customers with account management.
• Support event check-in and tournament operations.
• Ensure all building attendees are checked in and paid for their attending events.
• Any and all duties as assigned.
Facility Monitoring & Operations
• Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Perform regular inspections of restrooms, locker rooms, lobby areas, spectator seating, and
common spaces.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and equipment concerns to management.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Help coordinate facility traffic flow during busy events and tournaments.
• Any and all duties as assigned.

Facility Maintenance & Janitorial Support
• Perform light janitorial duties as needed throughout the facility.
o Check and restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
o Empty trash and recycling containers as needed.
• Monitor locker rooms for cleanliness and organization between user groups.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain front desk, lobby, and common areas.
• Assist with maintaining a professional appearance throughout the facility.
• Support general facility upkeep and minor maintenance projects as assigned.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, signage, and equipment.
• Assist with Skate Sharpening on Sparx Machine as needed.
• Any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, recreation, or front desk experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn registration software systems.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in a cold environment and travel between rink areas as needed.

Skate Guard

Position Summary:
The Skate Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable skating environment for all
guests. This role involves monitoring skaters on the ice, enforcing rink rules, assisting guests,
responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service. Our skate guards play a
pivotal role in the customer’s public session experience.


Key Responsibilities
• Monitor all activity on the ice to ensure skater safety.
• Enforce rink rules and policies in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist beginner skaters and provide basic skating guidance when needed.
• Act as an ambassador for rink programs and upcoming events.
• Ensure arena atmosphere is “family friendly”.
• Respond quickly to falls, injuries, or unsafe situations.
• Perform routine ice checks and report hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Manage entry and exit points during public skating sessions.
• Assist with crowd control during busy skating periods.
• Support rink events, learn-to-skate programs, hockey activities, and special events as
assigned.
• Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude with guests.
• Complete incident reports and communicate safety concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general cleanliness of rink facilities.
• Any and all duties as assigned.


Qualifications
• Strong skating ability and confidence on the ice.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous experience in ice skating, hockey or figure, is required.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to skate for extended periods.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
